Aside from all the advertising (which noone likes or wants), it`s elegant. Fonts are good looking, color combinations are pleasant, layout is logical and easy to follow, easy to navigate etc. soccerage.com was big and messy but still much much better than goal.com. I don't know what possessed them..

Well, realistically there's no way to make it good, it needs a complete redesign. Compare it to a site that has professional design like http://soccernet.espn.go.com/ and see the difference.

It's not just about the colors, the whole interface is horridly designed. Just changing the colors wouldn't make it any better.

You know I never bother reading the columns on there because I hate the site so much. It's doing a real disservice to the people who write them, cause sometimes they're very good. If the people who run goal.com were real publishers (ie. paper) they would probably innovate by printing books on...

Frankly the only online publication (that I know of) I'd like to be published in is the Guardian, they have immense columns. I can see it now, I submit a story and they gently tell me to f. off. "Why don't you start by taking some English classes?" :D

For the record, certain statistics speak loudly in DP's favor (starting with him being our top scorer last year), I was even gonna do an article about it but I couldn't be bothered :D

Counter what exactly? I've seen the word "statistics" come in up in relation to Del Piero but I've yet to see some kind of conclusion made on that.

Let me answer that very simply.. International goals Cisse 7 in 22 games: 0.32 goals per game Wiltord 23 in 72 games: 0.32 goals per game Henry 29 in 72 games: 0.40 goals per game Trezeguet 31 in 59 games: 0.53 goals per game Do you still think they are all better than Trez?

I'm happy for Wiltord, he used to be a great player and his previous season with Lyon was very convincing. Meanwhile everyone is waiting for Cisse to come through but he's taking his sweet time.

Yeah that must be it. Well as long as they get a result (hopefully a win) in Ireland, Trez' absence won't hurt. But for a team which used to score through many more different players on a regular basis, it is a concern to realize that they always rely on either Henry or Trez.

I hardly think Trez would be dropped in favor of Cisse, the latter never scores international goals (so good thing he did now), must be an injury situation.

No idea, the match report doesn't mention him. http://www.football365.fr/bleus/story_183375.shtml

Not terribly surprising given that he wasn't in the squad.

No, Capello made up his mind a long time ago. Trez and Zlatan.
