I also liked Ibarra a lot. He is a Monaco player, but he did play for Porto in 2001/2002 I think, after which he went back to Boca Juniors for three years (he played there before Porto).
Yes, my friend! And the same applies to Ferrari, and Mexes, and Trabelsi, and Vieri...
This excitement during two transfer windows in a year...
But I do get a little upset when a good-looking deal is not working out though.
I also agree... he's been with the club long enough to know it inside out. He is not that old.
Emerson... Pedretti... Rothen... so many names are flying around in my head. Let's wait until the new coach is assigned on the 12th and then wait what he has to say.
What is Rothen's possible market price anyways?
Also, Monaco bosses said that they want to keep Deschamps for a year or two. So if DD comes to Juventus, they might get pissed and not release anybody else.
I have seen him play in more than the last two matches vs Chelsea actually, and I like the guy... :)
But I have a pragmatic approach to transfers (don't buy a player simply because you like him). I have a feeling that Moggi will not buy more than 4 or 5 new players (he rarely buys more than...
Rothen has a very serious advantage- he is French! I guess if Deschamps ends up with Juve, he'll take Rothen with him. I am still against his trasfer though.
When Milan bought Nesta & Inter- Cannavaro they have already shined at the Euro 2000 and 2002 WC. Nesta was also part of the Euro 96 team and WC 98. Cannavaro played in the 98 WC. Samuel was featured in many WC qualifications and friendlies for Argentina.
I think there is no comparison...
A lot of footballers want to join big clubs. Vast majority of them will never make it.
As for Rothen, I wouldn't buy him unless I observed him closely for another season or two. He's just been playing well in a good team under a good coach.
