England are not even a big footballing nation to begin with. Consistent failure to win anything since 66 (47 years and counting) hardly constitutes the hallmarks of a great footballing nation :D
Deschamps is far superior to anyone we have had since. Young, hungry, knows the club well, has tasted success on multiple occasions as a player. A true winner :)
