It's perfect for lazy people, don't even have to go down the stairs :D Yeah, so I hear. But as far as I know they only collect trash once a week on my block, and there's noone marking the bags for special content.

Well in the cities these containers are bigger and usually inside the building somewhere. Some old apartment buildings have this awesome garbage shoot where you just go out in the staircase, open this lid and push the garbage bag in there, and it falls down into the container several floors...

Every home has 3 garbage cans like that one and you're supposed to sort your trash. In any case, you don't have bags of trash out in the streets.

That's why Germans are infatuated with Norway :weee: Amazing as it sounds, yes.

Ah, the classic come-visit-Holland-and-you'll-see-garbage-bags-in-the-streets.

The stories make the rounds to sucker tourists to come spend their money in this country. :D

Is it a prosperous one? Cause in Utrecht there's this one street with like three shops and that's it.

That couldn't be further from the truth, it's in the heart of the city and there's a good chance you'll stumble upon it by accident. Like Erik said, nobody cares.

Everyone here thinks I'm Dutch. Random people on the street ask me for directions like every week, most of the time of course I have no clue about the place they want to go. Incredible suspense there :P
