You're not a terrible person but saying, "I know," can come off as arrogant. Just respond with a simple, "thank you." It's very effective and makes you seem a lot more humble.

Sounds good! One time I tried to bake and give to my coworkers (sugar cookies though not biscotti) they told me never to try that again lol. It was hands down one of the worst things I ever ate!
