That's because of his injuries. You can't trust a guy to be your perennial starter when he's injured 40% of the time and regularly misses big matches. If you consider him a rotation player, you gotta sign a guy near his level to rotate with him.

Actually the reason Pogba underperformed in the first half wasn't because of his position, but because Kucka did an excellent job man marking him. It's merit to Mihjailovic and Kucka, for sure. They basically nullified him for most of the game. The fact he decided it just shows the monster he is.
