He was misused as a LW and wasn't ready for a different role. He doesn't belong as a winger in a traditional 4-4-2, maybe playing out wide in a 4-3-3 would have been a better alternative, you never know. I still believe we could do better. Jovetic playing in a trequartesta role in a 3-5-2 or...

Watching the first 2 matches, Maggio has been the worst player for Italy. He looks like he doesn't belong out there.

Those 20 minutes against Chelsea were the only highlights of his Juve career. He might got misused or played out of his position while at Juve, but I was never impressed to be honest. Drifted out wide most of the time, and got muscled out for the ball, easy to knock off the ball, poor delivery...
