It is agreed that Lampard is a highly effective player for Chelski, that is not in doubt. However, the bone of contention here is that he is a better player than Zidane was in his prime. Anyone with half a brain knows that Lampard is not fit to wipe Zidane's boots even today.

At best, Lampard is a very good CM. No less, but certainly no more.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I will say again that to suggest Frank Lampard is the best player in the world is pure heresy.

For those who say Lampard is better than Zidane, ask his teammates from the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championships and as recently as the Real Madrid side of 2002, who they'd rather have in their team - Lampard of today or Zidane of that era. I think I know what the answer will be.

I've never said Lampard isn't making good use of his talents. In fact, if you read my second post on this subject, you will easily discover that I actually like Lampard. I think he is a very good footballer. But I do not believe that he and Zidane are in the same class, 360 spin or not.

Look, I don't give a rat's ass about Opta stats. Also, I've never said that Lampard isn't a good player. All I've said is that Lampard simply isn't in Zidane's class. And yes to assert otherwise is heresy.
