its saying that barca wants to strenghten their team with Zambo and that he would fit barcas playing style

Why not?? He's not getting any younger.

By the time this team is ready to make a serious push at the CL, he'll be over 30.

If the price is right, definitely sell him.

Da, I agree.
There comes a point where you have to realize that a core group of players that you have on the team is not going to be enough to get the job done anymore. Zambrotta is one of those guys.

Is he part of the problem?? No, definitely not, but at his age, he's not part of the solution anymore either.

The window for this team challenging for a CL trophy (which , quite frankly, is the ONLY trophy that matters) closed last year. That team potentially had the best chance of winning it. Window is closed now. Time to cash in on some of these chips that Juve still hold (Zambo, Nedved, especially if he has a good WC) and others

nedved will be 34 and he's very likely to retire in 2007. i believe he stays.

besides moggi's gone and i doubt someone else could pull a carini/cannavaro deal, say direct swap for stankovic this time.

you do have a point, but where's the sense in selling our best players? sure, we cash in, but then we'll bring more mercenaries with no connections to this club whatsoever and along comes the risk of failing to qualify for the cl. balzarettis and chiellinis will not cut it.
