how? nice and dandy, south america is piss poor an everyone at least tad bit talented is going to europe. same with africa though.. the point is that very few outside of argentina and brazil make it big. santa cruz doesnt count. millions were paid for a talented teenager who's constantly injured and can't warrant a first team spot at bayern. where as there's loads of top players in africa.
its just sucks that 3 WC places go to south american teams other than brazil and the argies where's the whole of africa gets only 5. you can say what you like about togo and angola but the likes of cameroon, south africa, nigeria, tunisia and south africa stayed home and that's unfair to me. how are they worse than ecuador or paraguy?
It seems pretty fair to me. It's not my problem Cameroon cannot find their feet in a penalty shoot-out, or Nigeria choke two times in quick succession. Five spots - Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, and Senegal sounds pretty fair to me...the rest are just fringe nations who are not better than Ecuador or Paraguay or Uruguay.

Fair enough, but as i stated more spots for asia & oceania as well, not only africa.
Oceania only deserves one spot if Australia is included in that respective football confederation.

Asia simply doesn't deserve more spots in my opinion.

I think the big issue here is that South America does not have that many countries but for some reason they have the chance of 5 teams in world cup when only 2 are any good. Africa has god knows how many countries and this is the first time they have been allocated 5 teams. Andy keeps alluding to how badly African teams have done in the world cup but both Cameroun and Senegal have gotten to quarter finals which no S. American team save for the big 2 have managed to achieve since 1970

Pple say that teams besides Arg, and Bra suck, so therefore SA should be only granted 2 spots and one to play with another team from another country (cant remember how u call that in english). Well im not gonna say Col is good (we're half decent), but teams like Ecu, Par and Uru r good, just that when u compare those three together to Arg or BRA!, well its just not fair. So lets say then that Sen and Cmr (given the WC facts) r the best, followed by Nia, r the best, then y give 5 spots to africa, just give 2 and the other play with the SA team. In europe: There r four WC champions so lets just give 4 spots and let other 2 teams play.
ASia and Oceania... well lets give one to south korea.
PFFFF the amount of teams is not a reason to give more spots, the worst SA team is like 78 in the fifa ranking while the worst african team is like 145.
its not the same to have Uru in the world cup than angola..... not that it would have made any difference but still kinda pple like better a two times WC champions, rather than a debutant with no chance whatsoever to go onto the second round.
POINT is: keep the african spots and the SA equal

you stay put ivory cost in comnebol qualifiers and they wont make it to the top 4. you sure? the ivory cost that was unlucky to lose to argentina?
thats not a very nice commentary

well all those countries (excepting tunisia, i do believe they r in this WC) didnt qualify bcuz they had a bad qualifying round same with all the other 120 teams that didnt make it(including Colombia)

But arent Cameroon and Senegal the big African teams? Why dont we exclude those two as well?

All this fighting about Africa and South-America, it's like the colonial age is back.

Why don't we, next time, just have it between Europeans? We'll hold it in Germany every four years cause it's centrally located and be done with it. And the good thing is: we can still call it 'world cup', the Americans do it too!

Aahh to be a chauvinist pig...

That's exactly what some BBC reporter proposed the the Spanish and Italian FA four years ago :D. Though I must say he did have an evil grin on his face.

Anyway, I'm all for the idea.

That is not an original idea , its been done , its just called the European Championship.
I don't know how the likes of Angola and Togo qualified as they are no good at all but the likes of Paraguay and Ecuador just dont inspire you with any sense of causing an upset against the top sides at all

the champions of africa and the champions of europe are sitting watching at home. europe and africa are much more competitive than south america, concacef and ociania where, realistically only 2-3 teams ever have a hope in hell of winning anything and qualifying for the major tourneys.
personally i think it will be good for african football to have new representatives at the world cup,it will bring the best out of cameroon, nigeria, and south africa while boosting the games popularity in togo and other countries who never made it before.
judge these teams not now but in 10 years when the youngsters sitting at home see their fellow countrymen representing them and decide they want to do the same

What chance to the Polska have now?
Well, on paper, if Ecuador get beaten twice and we beat Costa Rica by a wide margin, we go through on goal difference. However, for all intents and purposes, our World Cup stint is over, just like I thought it would be at this point. :D
