What realistic CAM's could we get for 4312 according to you ? @Red
Nothing jumping out beyind ones that have been mentioned (Mata, Kagawa).

Suppose Pastore might become available dependind on who PSG decide to sign unnecessarily, but I've never been a fan of his.

Germany are producing these sort of players, but you've got to get in so early that it's very difficult.

You only had to blink and Draxler had already become too expensive for pretty much everyone.

this

Calvin Miller wins Scotland a first U16 Victory Shield since 1998 over England.

great prospect?
Was watching him in that game and he was playing as the lone striker.

Scary how intelligently he moved and led the line for a child.

Think of the sort of great movement you get from someone like Olic or Iaquinta, but with better technique to back it up.

Most highly rated players of that age have the flashy technique, but need years to develop the sort of positional awareness and understanding of space he was showing.

Shame he's at Celtic...

@Red Jordan McGhee, is he any good?
Only seen him once and he was at right back rather than centre half, which I think is his natural position.

Couldn't cope with the Aberdeen winger he was facing, but McGinn is one of the best in the league on his day, so no surprise a kid struggled against him.

For 20M? Are you sure? Not to mention we had the players for cover/trade - Isla, Padoin.
Just through Licht's short injury we've seen how crippling relying on Isla / Padoin as starters in that RWB position is to the team. There's not a ton of players who can provide what Licht has provided for us in his position and even fewer who would be low risk at the price we'd have to pay for them(remember, we paid 9 m for half of Isla). If PSG were really interested enough in him to give us 20 m, we'd definitely have to consider it, but we'd also need to have a suitable replacement lined up, which is easier said than done.

Giach and especially Matri were good sales. But both were mostly luck, rather than a part of a master plan. Giach, at least in my eyes, looks more like the player we should build up just so we can cash in on, but when you look at the details -the deal ain't impressive at all.
Well opportunism is a big part of the Great Man's transfer policy and any type of sale like the one you're suggesting is inherently opportunistic. We're not really a selling club like Porto, Benfica, Ajax etc., so building up players for big money transfers isn't really a part of our plan, nor that of most other big clubs. The biggest current club I can think of that's been a "seller" is Dortmund, and in many cases they've not been doing it willingly, but via buyout clauses or expired contracts. Even in the cases where they did sell willingly, they had replacements lined up which filled the gap well. In cases where we can do the same, we should and usually do.

Marchisio for 35M to Monaco? Quag for 10-15m a season ago? Giovinco....
The problem with such valuations is that they're mostly rumours. If we could have gotten 15 mil for Quags, then personally I think we'd have done well to sell. A big problem we have will selling Marchisio, however, is that he's one of our only good homegrown players, so filling the gap he'd leave in the squad would be difficult. He's not a PDC type player who's slot you can fill with a rock and not notice the difference. Giovinco was just a horrible mistake.

Cheers. I noticed him linked to a few PL clubs recently, and there was a Scottish youngster linked to Juve from a British source as well, pretty sure it was him.

He does ?

Tought he was exciting there. Been a while since i checked tho
Doesn't get to play much and when he does it's often wide.

Still see flashes of how good he is, but Man Utd haven't give him the chance to really establish himself properly.

Yeah, it was him being linked with Juve.

Since i cant see Verratti or Gundogan beeing available , i recond if we want to keep the strong mid3+tevez/llorente, its best to get the CAM.

Still not sure who. I cant see Marotta try for kagawa as he will not be good value for the asked money

Mata is a wet dream tho

AND HE CAN ALSO PLAY THE WING

Indeed, but he most likely played himself back into Chelsea's starting XI today. De Bruyne's probably the most realistic "big" target for us as a CAM on the market currently.

On the topic of CAMs, I watched Leverskusen's game against Stuttgart yesterday and I was impressed by Son Heung-Min playmaking capabilities(apart from scoring twice). He was playing as a SS in a 4-3-3(which isn't too different to a CAM in a 4-3-2-1) and his passing and vision were superb(the YT highlights for him don't show that side of his game). Apparently Leverkusen spent 10m on him in the summer and he seems to be having a good season so far, so I doubt we'd have any luck getting him at a reasonable price. Having said all that, I haven't seen enough of him to back him fully as a transfer target, so take all the above with a grain of salt. Just felt like dropping his name here, as he seems a great player.

Why no one is mentioning Hernanes?
For a good reason. :p

I don't see Pirlo lasting for two years more, although the team will get better in this formation and we will get close to the best players available.

On the other hand our squad is not exactly young so a process of refreshing after a third scudetto in a row is a must!!! :tuttosport:

I agree, if Pirlo doesn't renew he would be a great choice since as Zach mentioned we're getting Verratti or Gundogan.

The age excuse again.
Well, we need to be realistic here. 29 is pretty old for a brazillian player. He wont be entering his prime at juve, his currently nearing the end of it.

If he had this performance at 24 i'd be all for it, but he isnt good enough for juve simply.

Not if we consider the building phase is over and we are directly replacing strongholders.
