Juventus eye a top striker
Juventus director Beppe Marotta says the club are targeting a top striker, but he refused to admit any interest in midfielder Gokhan Inler.
Talking to Sky Sport Italia on Thursday, he was asked whether one from Carlos Tevez [Man City], Karim Benzema [Real Madrid] or Sergio Aguero [Atletico Madrid] would arrive.
“Let’s say that we are looking for a player who is similar in profile to those,” he responded without naming names.
“We are looking for some important players, no matter what role they play, even if the attacking department is the one which the public gets excited about.
“We’ll continue to target players who have achieved important results during their career so far.”
Some whispers today suggested that Juve were also thinking about hijacking Napoli’s bid for Udinese ace Inler.
“Inler is a player who everybody is talking about, but I won’t commit myself,” the director general explained.
“All I will say is that despite the fact that we will have no European football to offer next season, a lot of players are ready to wear our shirt. This is significant.”
