I think a lot of times Allegri's player selections are based on team hierarchy and what he thinks is best for team spirit, hence persisting with seniors and bigger names over a quiet, young lad like Ruga. Maybe if he started tweeting and bitching to the media, and had a loud mouth agent things would be different for him.
There is a gold mine in Bosman's this summer, holy $#@!.

Strengthen the RB position, add more quality to the midfield, and get a couple of defenders on a free (+ the return of our loanees). However, the most important aspect of the mercato is going to be the retention of both Sandro and Dybala. If we sell yet another star player, then fuck it. I want some stability and consistency FFS! Add to what you have, but don't take away from it. Let's try and strengthen all areas, as opposed to strengthening one and weakening another. yep, keeping those two will be key, as we will already be losing Buffon, Barzagli, Licht, Asa, Khedira, maybe even a few more like Cuads (hopefully not tho), Benatia, Higgy. too much of an overhaul to afford selling key players like those two, even with the kind of policy we have going. but those 2 staying, Hysaj and SMS arriving along with Caldara and Spinazzola and we good. possibly Kean too (+ Cavani if Higgy leaves ) for backup CF

When I saw him outrun Robben live at the Waldstadion in 2013 or so I thought we got ourselves a new Uwe Bindewald

He was playing in a new CF in alot of those games last season (CBs and CFs are those who need to cover least ground, especially intelligent ones), reference point roaming around edges of box solely focusing his efforts on maximum output in dangerous areas (pretty much must be an instruction), he is NOT a lazy player in general, seriously watch him. He is the closest attacker you would have to a Tevez, far from a spineless dweeb like Özil.

His warrior work ethic is big part of what makes him a top player besides the ridicolous skills. We would be lucky with the amount of pressurring we would get, if we had in same lineup as Mandzukic.
