Juventus wages 2014

If Chiellini extended his contract until 2017 with a raise from 2,5m to 3,5m. Lichsteiner should have a similar contract given they have the same importance on the team's performance.

Lichtsteiner has been more influential than Chiellini tbh. He definitely deserves the wage based on performance.

Is good not seeing players like Quagliarella, Vucinic or Isla on the left part of the wage list.
please point out where you see them ?

But for how long would he deserve that 3.5m?

He's 30 and playing in a role that he couldn't play to anything like the same standard without his phycial attributes.

How long would you be willing to bank on him retaining his current level of athleticism?

I wouldn't go as high as 3.5m anyway, but I'd be prepared to give him 3m or so per year for a couple of years, but I wouldn't be willing to risk committing to that wage for the three or four years Lichtsteiner is probably asking for.

Re-read his post.
I was thinking that splitting the difference would be great so 3 is a doable compromise.

I don't see Licht having much trouble in his mid thirties. Three more years at a top level should be fine for someone in as good a shape as him.

I like Licht but like with every player that turns 30 and older, there comes a time when you must make tough decisions. I would sell for an offer over 15M and re-invest in a younger RB.

We signed Evra who is 3 years older than Licht so after all he has given to the team I would offer him a 3,5m contract for 3 years with a +1 option. Unless this Zappacosta kid, who I don't know, develops quickly, we'll be starting Licht for quite a while.

Inter sure has done a serious job of lowering that bill

Meanwhile, our team got SO much better , and it barely added 18mil in wages.
