Cavani young ? A month from now he's only 2 years younger than the oldtimer Sneijder...

- - - Updated - - -

We're not selling The Pogs, simply because I don't have his jersey yet...
Cavani turns 28 in February,Sneijder turns 31 in June.

Cavani's a player with a high workrate and with little to no fitness isues whereas its quite the contrary with Sneijder.

Most importantly Cavani is in his prime years while Sneijder is just happy collecting a fat paycheck in an irrelevant league after having already achieved things at the highest level.

Thing is Cavani needs his fitness in his game but at 28 there's no problem for years to come there. Sneijder doesn't. And if there's anyone collecting a big paycheck, it's Cavani. He's a monster, but he's not young. At that age, Iaquinta was having his 3'678'336th physiotherapy session.

Anyway why are we even mentioning Cavani. He earns 10 mil net for fucks sake...

no robee we had this argument when you said the same about Tevez, if and that's a big if Cavani ever did arrive at Juve I would be almost certain to see the old Cavani (napoli) at Juve
I'm not denying this. I'm denying the fact he's young.

And he earns 10 mil, so you might as well scratch the 'if' because he won't.

oh, fine, i see what youre trying to say now. anyway, i think anyone here would take Cavani but he would be too expensive so only a miracle can bring him to Turin

.
Tevez was earning a shit load at man city too, and i use the word If again but if hypothetically speaking Cavani ever wanted to join Juve badly enough I'm sure he wouldn't mind lowering his wages at the same time his wages have to reflect his age so I doubt his wages will be matched or increased any where else

Cavani still plays for a relevant team at the highest level. He just isnt happy to be there for the money but also the fact that he'll be competing for major honors.Cavani isnt young but this is supposed to be his prime years,i see no issue in buying someone who's still very relevant in the game and at the highest level nonetheless.
Whereas with Sneijder, you knew he took the decision to play in Turkey purely for (easy)money and his family(wife) and he himself probably knew that his time at the top was up.He doesnt play for a relevant team,he's lost that relevance a long time ago infact.I wont be surprised if he retired sooner than we expect.
I think we're discussing two players with completely different backgrounds here even if there isnt supposed to be lot of age difference between the two.

Shaqiri was a missed opportunity. I don't care if he's not a natural trequartista, he has something to offer in that role (more than Pereyra) and a lot of upside given his age and potential.

Glad we've seemingly given up on Sneijder. That would've been a panic buy and a waste of money. It doesn't look like we'll be able to sign anyone who could improve the team and play in the Champions League so I'd rather save the money and go for a proper AM in the summer rather than settling for a 30 year old.

He plays in god awful France... They have a good team, but let's not talk shit: he's there for the money. Otherwise he'd be banging in the goals as a prima punta instead of playing second fiddle to Ibrahimovic. What Cavani needs is a team like us to restore his very finest form. And we need him, but can't afford him.

Don't convince me on Sneijder. I always hated the little turd. But objectively seen he might be able to cut it at 30 years old for at least 1,5 years. Drogba was also said to be finished when he moved to Asia, he proved everyone (myself included) wrong afterwards.

20 more days left to spill our summer transfer kitty that might actually look like something this year...
