Haha @ DDP ;)

UPDATES ON MY ML:

Last season, (first in the premiership):

Won 18, Tied 6, Lost 6, scored 56 GF, and 23 GA
Won the FA CUP
Finished 2nd in League to Newcastle United, but Qualified for the CL

This season (just finished):

Won 23, Tied 6, Lost 1, scored 47 GF, and 13 GA
Lost in the semis of the FA cup in PK's (Such crap)
Won the Champions League. Knocked off Inter 4-2 on agg in the semis, and then beat Roma 1-0 in the finals. Pretty sweet, big trophy.
Won the league with 75 pts, 5 ahead of Newcastle United.

All of this on 6 star. Im pretty satisfied right now.

Should have won FA cup too, but got knocked out in gay PKs after 1-1 on agg.
Nedved was out on a 12 week long injury, Del was hurt, as well as Ibrahimovic.
I had to rely on Cisse/Trez/Zala/Kapo/Camo to step it up, but oh well.

Winning the league on 6 star is no easy task, as well as winning the CL. Or should I say the WEFA Championship ;).

I was also impressed by only giving up 11 goals in 30 games. It was 11, but after I won the league before the last game, I fielded a diff team, and tied last match 2-2, so 13 GA. Oh well.

13 GA in 30 games on 6 star is not bad I think. Thats like .43 GA per game, not bad.

Ive got 79000 PES points to throw at some new guys now, just gave Trez the boot.

Oh ya, I forgot, my winning avg was 76.67 percent, and my UEFA RANKING is 12

Cheers for now...

Dude I'm just like you. All I do is defend and play catennacio, scoring a goal then moving all my players further back into defensive positions.

Am I the only one that gets extremely pissed when I fail to keep a cleen sheet? God I hate goals against. :D
So you rather win 1-0 than 8-3? :D

8-3 seems impossible on 6 stars. I cant imagine EVER scoring 8 goals in one 10 min game, against a decent computer opponent at 6 star level.

For me, a lot of my goals come in from early low driven crosses, on the headers, and from set pieces, the headers.

Ive seen a lot of 1-0 wins, and hanging on to those, or 2-1 wins, and getting the 3 points feels fvcking great, and is what its all about. A lot more realistic. ;)

Well I just finished my first season, coming in fourth place with Sampdoria in Serie A. I had enough points to buy the ML Compilation, and now I'm deciding how I want the league to be set up.

I was thinking I would allocate the teams evenly, coming up with some sort of system to have two of the best teams from each country in one League itself, with clubs such as Porto and Partizan being distributed evenly as possible. Not exactly sure how I should do this, so some pointers could help.

Also, I see there is something like a WEFA compitition and something else. It's going to be strange playing against teams from other countries when you already are in a league with other countries.

Oh, and I also have to figure out what all the contract and negotiation stuff is all about.

well u know how I did it

I think 6 stars are too hard to play in masterleague. So I play on 4 stars. I win kinda every match, or draw. But in the league I play with 5 star. I came 1st just 1pt before Inter. I have started 6 stars right now in league, but its really hard, since Im not so good with headers... im in 3rd place after Inter and Milan. They lead with 4 pts. Luckily its the beginning of the league.

6 stars are pretty hard, but the more you play it, the more you realize how the computer plays, and figure out ways to counter against them. Like I was saying in some of my earlier posts, a lot of my goals come from dribbling down the wings, and whipping a cross in (Hit O or cross button 3 times real quick). This sends the ball driven across rather then just a lob, and then I would head home with Ibra/Cisse or whoever else is able to run through and connect with the ball.
Also, you gotta really shine on freekicks/corners. These are crucial. You need to be able to score from these everyonce in a while.
For corners, if Kapo is in, I have him swing them in from the right, and on left, either Camo/Nedved/Gerrard/Del Piero, depending on whose in.

I dont ever go more then half way on the bar, and most of the time its like 3/4 to half, if you can imagine that, so the ball normally ends up right at the near post. I also hold the d-pad in the direction of the corner, to curl it in, and down a bit, if that makes sense.

Scored some great goals using these two methods of the crosses and corners. I do not think Ive scored on a freekick directly during my past 3 seasons of ML, but I have scored from headers from the freekicks, meaning someone will take the kick, give it some curl or even no curl, and Ibra or someone else will head it home.

Also when I chose which ML I wanted to be in, I made sure I avoided such big teams as Real Madrid/Arsenal/AC etc. In my league, ML B, there is Chelsea, Ajax, Newcastle United, Deportivo, to name some of the bigger names, with Newcastle always being the one I gotta compete with until the end. Somehow Shearer and Kluivert seem to rape other teams.

Its not like I avoid teams like RM, Inter, Arsenal, etc. Thats what Champions League is for, where I beat Arsenal 5-2, Inter 4-2 on agg, Roma 1-0 in the finals, etc. All of this on 6 star.

Ive yet to play AC Milan in my ML campaign. Im pretty sure there in one of the other ML's, just not doing so well. Man United arent even in the ML though.

But ya, David, play on 6 stars man, and eventually youll get a hang of it. Itll be worth it down the line. :)

hehe okay ;) I tried and I've scored a lot of corners and headers from crosses :D I hold down L1 and doubletab the O - button And press the D-pad in the direction of the rushing Trezeguet/Zlatan/Ronaldo. (I bought Ronaldo for 25.000+Zalayeta, sorry but he's the best forward in the game IMO.)

So most of you guys just let the computer decide which teams go where?
I think I do it different then you. I simply just chose Master League, then New Game, and you choose which of the 4 leagues it gives you to play in, but start with these 8 teams in that D2, and go from their.

I start with Match Mode team, maybe you are starting from scratch.

From my match mode team, I only have Buffon/Zambrotta/Cannavaro/Thuram/Ibra/Del Piero/Nedved/Kapo/Blasi/Tachinardi/Chimenti/Baccao (cant sell) still. Everyone else I think has been sold off.

I cant imagine playing on 6 stars with that default ML team, guys like Burchet, etc etc. Would be too hard. !!!!!!!!!!

Ya, hes up there. Owen is not bad as well. Almost right along side him.

Dibril Cisse for me has done well, as hes only like 23 or 24, so his stats go up, and the guy has like 98 speed, so hes killer when he takes people on down the line. And Ibra is young as well, so his stats keep increasing. His shot tech has gone up like 8 pts!!! thats a lot. When Cisse passes on, or I got sick of him, I might get Owen or maybe Ronaldo as well. I put Del up for transfer just to see if anyone would buy him, and dont think I gave it enough time, nothing yet, though Im not sure if I would let him go :).

Bought Ronaldinho though and Rio Ferdinand recently.
Ronnie is pretty sick.

Thats all for now...

Yeah I just finished off allocating the teams to different leagues, trying to make it as even as possible. I came up with some sort of ranking system, giving teams such as Juve and Real 1's and Palermo and Sparta Praha 3's, then went from there. So basically all four leagues are even.

Andy,if you're looking to make the game as realistic as possible, allocate teams from the same countries to the same leagues,if there are any extra spots just throw a couple others in.I believe there is also an option to rename the leagues, you could change it to Serie A,Primera Liga etc. Then you'll have a proper European league system, with the WEFA Championships for CL.

Is it possible to change the name of the league if you play on PS2? I have not seen any way.
