With Ciro in charge I have high hopes of seeing more of not only the youngsters who came through last season, but also some of the kids with zero or next to zero playing time so far for the first team. I watched some of highlights packages of the Viareggio tournament and a few members of our squad looked special. Iago, Ekdal, Daud are the main candidates, but there are others.

Marchisio may have to fight, but he has the chance of claiming a first team spot. De Ceglie will definitely have to fight but he also has a chance of claiming a first team place. Which leaves Giovinco.

Last season when he played, he looked special. During the EURO U21s he was consistently one of the most exciting characters. We can all see this, and surely so can Ciro. And I hope that Giovinco is given a chance...but what is his aim???

It is extremely unlikely that he will challenge Diego for the spot behind the strikers, where perhaps he could be at his deadliest, though a left side of attack position suits him equally well...which is Del Piero's position. It wouldn't matter if he continually drifted out to the wing, because Diego pushes up to make an extra attacker, whenever the team moves forward, and depending on the situation, Melo or Marchisio, perhaps both, will have advanced centrally to make more presence in the middle section of the opponents last third. So my hope is that Ciro allows him to challenge Del Piero, for his starting berth.

A dream attack for me would be Trezeguet and Giovinco. Its unpredictable, but with two players capable of pure magic, Trezeguet would score 3000 in one season. If the opposition muscles in on our little lads, Momo and Melo can and will crunch them. The only problem with Momo is that he sometimes, so devoted to the cause, takes out one of our players as he scythes down a true opponent...Still, he is well worth the hazards he brings.

Giovinco could play with any of the forwards, other than Del Piero. that is far too lightweight. The Atomic Ant also has more pace than any of our other strikers.

The question is, will he have an honest chance of playing in the first team??? if so...is Del Piero's position the only spot available???

i truly believe that Giovinco would be more helpful in offense than d.p would..but still d.p has what it takes to win a game, so what im saying is that d.p should play a game and rest the other even when we're playin one game a week...and when he doesnt play Seba can step in to fill his shoes..and what an amazing partnership he'll have with diego..and to me i think that whoever plays the alone striker's role we'll have a lot of goals as all of our attackers have that deadly finish

If Seba was really the first choice sub for both Del Piero and Diego, then I wouldn't be afraid at all, as we have three competitions to win this season. Del Piero isn't going to play every game at this age, and Diego is just a human as well. What I'm afraid is that Camor could also wait for Diego's AMF spot and Iaquinta/Amauri/Trezeguet is just enough to rotate with Del Piero. Maybe we have too many forwards for this new system? I really couldn't choose a one to leave from Treze (who can score fuckilion goals with such a midfield, but could be injured whole season as well), Iaquinta (who's heart to play for this club always impressed me more than his skills) and Amauri (who may be pure magic with Diego and Melo, or continue last season mediocrity). They are all World Class players when fit and in form, but wouldn't it be healthy for the team to let Giovinco and lets say Daud fill a gap for one of them? That said, I really think that right now all is in Giovinco's legs and head, as Ciro will not be his problem for sure. Go Seba, show us that you are worth so much talking.

If Juventus follows the path of Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson, Giovinco will be seeing rather a lot of playing time.

For the early part of the Coppa Italia Ferrara should ensure that several fringe players appear. Giovinco would be one of the more experieced younger players in a team that consisted of 50% regular 1st team members and a 50% combination of those benched for 1st team matches and those who excelled at Viareggio.

As we all know, it will be a long arduous season with injuries, suspensions and other reasons. It's why we need to maximise all the resources at our disposal.

Ciro will, I'm sure, develop Giovinco even further in the coming season.

Its an issue which interests me and other people, which is why the first three people who replied gave decent input, rather than a bullshit smiley or picture of a man sticking his head up his arse.

As for creating pointless threads, I made one about Iago by mistake, and as soon I realized there was no need for it, I contacted a Mod to have it deleted. Other than that, I haven't started many threads, but have contributed to others fairly prolifically. And what I have noticed is that there is a dumb sense of superiority veteran members show towards the lesser known. That and the puerile nature of much of the discussion are the only negative points of the community here.

I dont want to make friends, but I do want to discuss Juventus matters, with other people who are as passionate about the club as I am, and have been for many years.

I am sure there are many people wondering what I am wondering, about Giovinco, and I felt it was a valid question to ask the members here.

I think this matter concerns tactics, the team selection, not just Giovinco. which is why i put it in here.

Amauri is a better player than Trez,he should start alongside Gio cuz he offers more options and tactical versatilities which is a common demand in a modern football.

I really think Giovinco is going to show so much that Ciro in the end cant afford to bench him. He is amazing and he creates a lot of chances all the time. I dont think he will start at the beginning but in the end Ciro would be stupid to waste a talent like that.
