Going out to celebrate this evening is just a huge bullshit.
Yup. Price gouging, fake expectations and social pressures, and a holiday that has absolutely zero astronomical significance other than flipping a paper calendar -- which nobody uses anymore anyway. :pado:

Fake holiday for fake fans. :D

Exactly.

It's like an excuse to get wasted (which you can do any day, but save money as well. Or rather get wasted 10 times instead).
Or sitting around and consoling friends because they didn't get kissed or didn't kiss the right person at midnight.

I always thought the midnight kiss thing was a courtesy. From age 22-26 I went to new years parties where where it was customary for single guys and gals to walk around and dole out kisses. Apparently, not everyone is so casual.

Yeah, don't try making out with your friends' moms... no matter how hot of a MILF you think they are.

I can't wait for NYE. Buy a couple bottles and beers to get smashed with friends and then go out to the bars.
