I know. The thing I don't understand is how they are considered safe. How can the driver focus on the road?
The instrument cluster is extremely busy when you have the map in behind. Couldn't wait to get my car back fast enough.

I did drive the XM though. Now, I still stand by my distate for SUV, but that one was impressive

Heads-up display is a God send.

- - - Updated - - -

BTW, I love Alfa Romeo. Would love to have one.

I didn't know my M6 had a heads up display until I turned the car on. I was like what the fuck is this shit. This Big blue M logo appeared, and I will admit, I cried a little.

I will also admit that i did not know that the M6 does not have a parking gear. You have to shut the car off. I sat in that car for 5 minutes after I test drove it, because I had no idea what to do.

It was only when a salesman approached and said "You've never driven one of these before, have you." I asked him if I broke it lol

Wait, what?

You don't like Mercedes, because it's flashy. And then you think BMW makes the best all around cars? Have you been inside a BMW recently? I agree about Audi being meh though. Pretty much the most boring cars you can get.
I think bmw interiors are understated. You have the king horizontal screen that is well incorporated into the dash. Merc has the big annoying touch screen that’s too much

or a highlander

brother in law of my friend got one. guy's got 3 kids, it fits the whole family every single time. it's a huge car though, they bought a vitara for the city
I've been thinking of buying an old Vitara (2008-201) just as a cheap run around to take hiking or camping.

that's the grand vitara, right? i'd rather pick the newer generation that's been manufactured since 2015. that is a lighter, more nimble car. with the 1.6 petrol engine or with the 1.4 turbo it's a complete car. a friend has it with the 1.0 turbo engine, fuel economy is great, not bad at all overall but a bit light on torque.

too bad not all of them are 4x4's which is a must have feature for hiking/camping

Yea the Grand Vitara. I plan on taking it off road and driving it until it breaks so don't want anything too fancy. Just a cheap 4x4.

Lease and finance prices are stupid af. Been shopping around for bmw and Lexus and it’s like close to $800/month for what I want. It’s like $300+ more than it was three years ago. Would rather put that in the house or bank instead of a car.

might end up just buying or leasing something cheap until shit is more normal.

For those in the US, try swapalease.com or leasetrader.com
In the past, I've tried both and had a wonderful experience.
The way this works is that suppose Mr xyz leases a car for 36 months but 5 months into the lease his circumstances change and he wants to offload the car and he advertises the car on one of these websites along with the monthly payment and number of miles allowed per month. If you like the car on the website, you contact Mr xyz and inform him of your interest. He then turns around and contacts the leasing company eg BMW financial and forwards your info to them. Then BMW financial contacts you directly and runs a credit check on you and then transfers the car over to you for the remainder of the lease term.

The car is still under factory warranty. You can negotiate with the original owner (Mr xyz) for some discounts. Some owners are desperate to get rid of the car and agree to your offer.

I've heard most of USA men have thrown out the turtleneck. Baffling choice imo.
I know it's said in jest, but I find it insane that this practice is still tolerated. There are countless medical downsides to this procedure and there is a real risk of harming the child. There are, of course, a few select cases in which it's a medical necessity. But these are few and far between.
