Get to know her a bit, casual friendship/aquintance (depends on regular setting or common people you know), innocent flirting, lots of subtle ways to show you are interested, but wouldnt actively pursue someone who is in a relationship, unless its an unhappy one she's likely to get out of. Thats why its nice to have peeps you know in common, practical in feeding you such info

Well he asked a rather childish question
But what you said, its thats simple really, talking, but there's boundaries too, IMO if she finds him worth the effort/interested enough she will make it clear, and IMO should end it with ze BF before taking it any further. If you are interested enough to cheat, then its a relationship you should walk away from.
