Chase them around the yard until they fall asleep.
I usually fight with them until they are really tired but the little one fell off the stairs yesterday and he is refusing to use his foot. We scanned it and there is nothing broken but he is in pain nevertheless. So I am skipping the fight but they are in bed now....it's scary silent now.

Because they get overtired. Even kids at 5 years could need a little bit of sleep during the day.

The last time Elias took a nap during the day was when he was a year and a half, he simply does not do it. At day care he is the only one who stays awake when the others take a nap, he just chills.
And of course there's exceptions.

Yes of course. I know how good it is to have a nap but that's how it is with our boy. When Frej does not take a nap during the day he is simply unbearable by the evening and he is probably the easiest of kids normally.
