I'm not sure about "brave", other than she is deliberately making choices that may brand her as someone who sabotages potential corporate sponsors.
Having seen the genetic data and the analyst's evaluations at skeptics' events, banking your chorus on the Covid lab leak theory is saying you're banking on 0.1% likelihood odds. So either you're ignorant of the odds or you're betting on them because it makes you sound counter-cultural and possess secret knowledge. And neither are a great look for me.
Though she could be biographical rather than autobiographical with the lyrics. There's enough personas that fit the vibe of her song.
But I don't mind her music and the theme. It works as a song.
