Animal Collective is a weird one. They have songwriting talent that expands my Overton Window of stuff I'll enjoy.
The new Panda Bear & Sonic Boom album, Reset, is saccharine-dripping 60s pop gone electronic. Like what happens if you cross the Beach Boys with Abba and Aphex Twin, But somehow it all works. The writing is clever.
And where I live, you can't miss this album's cover art pasted on every utility box in the city. Likely having to do with Panda Bear living here in Lisbon since 2004.
