Wow, a breathtaking performance by Del Piero, he was by far the most effective player last night it was like there were 3 Del Pieros out there, great fighting spirit from (our) captain .. everyone is talking about Inzaghi's hat-trick but we shouldn't forget that more than 80% of Italy's chances stemmed from Del Piero ..

To be honest, I was hesitant when I first heard that he will play out wide but Del Piero didn't disappoint a bit .. let's not also forget Zambrotta's contribution, he totally ruled the left flank and had no troubles running over the Welsh defenders and delivering dangerous crosses .. another great day in the office for Zambro ..

Camoranesi did well too .. in the first half he found it difficult as Panucci wasn't helping alot but in the second half managed to improve thanks to Oddo's substitution (Panucci) .. he created Pippo's third goal with a sweet well-placed header and was also close from scoring himself ..

Buffon didn't have to do much really in the night, except for doing well to recover from Panucci's terrible mistake (back-header that went towards Giggs instead) ..

I didn't watch the other qualifiers, but from reading reports it seems that Neddy and Treze also had a great evening ..

Way to go International Bianconeri !!

(Other players who did well with the Azzurri: Cannavaro, Oddo, Vieri and Pippo).

Im really excited about zambrotta specially.

The guy seems like solid rock after almost all the games.
Put him there, here, wherever you want, and he will do it. Who knows..maybe the own Lippi must be ready for zambro :D

Left backs beware!!

Right now Del Piero and Zambrotta are in inspirational form! I can't wait to see them against Chievo!

Zambrotta is great indeed, and I've managed to see this since he played those awesome games in the cL last season. With a little luck, he will continue to be used at the NT in the post he most likes, and this will bring more chance for the Azzurri :)

There a bit harsh with them rating's !!!!

I would a give Del piero and Zambrotta at least 9/10

I thought Vieri was Sh*t !!! when Del Piero put him clean through, he took the keeper on and slipped cause he wouldn't shoot with his right!!, Imagine if the game would have been 0-0 at this point!!
