Great as a defensive unit, not so great in the 3/4..

IMO he should not be too much involved in attacks because you can see he struggles...but his defensive part and stamina were spot on.

Really poor for their goal. All 3 of Bonucci, Arthur and him need to do better in situations like that. McKennie was best placed to deal with the situation as the unmarked player was easy to get to, but he got caught ball watching and ran to the box instead of to the player.

He found space well but a lot of attacks broke down with him. Did well on the goal though with an excellent forward run.

He still seems incredibly raw but the potential is there.

Well, he's technically limited but seeing him play some simple 1 or 2-touch passes really speeds up our game compared to slowballing like Bentancur, Arthur & Rabiot. Good game, son.

Its true, but its seems to be the flaw of Pirlos tactics. McKennie covered the right side of the penalty area probably because this are his duties and Arthur was too late/too lazy to cover Pobega. Basically even commentators said the problem is the midfield doesnt really know what are their duties.

Yeah the midfield offered very little protection.

But you shouldn't need tactics to be able to spot an open player on the edge of the box. Both him and Arthur were ball watching.

He's dynamic like Matuidi but he's not a nufty. Does remind you a bit of Vidal but Vidal was absolutely world class as soon as he arrived.

Pretty good game, it'll be difficult to not play him since he offers different qualities than the others. His runs forward seem to cause problems but he needs to be more consistent with the ball and defensively.

But this is aquired. So with time he will get there. Unlike Bernardeschi who tricked clubs that he is a footballer.

Honestly he impressed me. I liked his link-up play with the attack and I liked how he attacks the box. Had 2 goals and a assist with some luck. When we find the right balance he could become a very useful box to box midfielder, he has the characteristics more than any other of our midfielders (besides Ramsey). Nice to know that we have a extra option in that aspect.
