How would Pirlo and Sneijder function in the same midfield, that is another question.
Like you basically said in the previous post we would do best to start Marchisio once we play more attacking players up top. Now we have Vidal or Pereyra who do a lot of work tracking back. Once we have a player like Sneijder there or if we're ever going to switch to 4-3-3 I'd prefer playing a defensively much more sound player with a high workrate like Marchisio.

:agree: not to say Pirlo won't be used, it would depend on the matchup.
Especially in Europe we would really suffer if we were to insist on starting Pirlo with a more attacking setup. In Serie A we could well get away with it on most occasions, but unfortunately I think the negatives would start to outweigh what he offers once we have proper creative players up top.

Buffon
Lich - Bonu - Giorgio - Evra
Vidal - Pirlo - Pogba
Tevez - Llorente - Coman

This looks great tbh. Id rather try this than get Sneijder.
Thats a horrible formation

It has been clear plenty of times that when we played Marchisio cdm instead of Pirlo, the team plays much more fluid and is much more organised and rigid when defending, especially on counters.

With said central midfield of Marchisio Vidal and Pogba, the question is who's gonna play the am ?

Both Pogba and Vidal are wasted in that spot. Pereyra is the best option, Because it allows Pogba and Vidal to stick to their preferred positions, But whilst a great squat player, he doesnt offer the supreme quality a true AM must give. He's an excellent stand in for every midfield spot, but not a definite starter.

With Sneijder, we'd get quality and experience on his natural position.
But, Sneijder is a bit old and has played long in a two fart skill league.

For a low price, its an excellent gamble. But anything over 8 mil is not wise

Well, regardless, id be happy to offer 15-17 for Shaqiri as opposed to 8 for Sneijder.
Let's say we do offer that for Shaqiri and it still isn't enough. At the same time we offer 8 for Sneijder and they accept. Do you pass up on Sneijder then despite Bayern shutting the door on Shaqiri's offer?

And what the hell are the dutch members saying about this deal? Ken? Pat?

I would say that if we sign Sneijder for whatever price it is a great move since it's Marotta who did it. I would also say that if we don't sign Sneijder because we did not meet his club's demands then Marotta has to be praised for his thoughts on the club economy; and for any other reason, Marotta gets the credit for dodging a bullet.

we should start thinking long term. at 35 turning 36 in june, i doubt he will be starter come next season. i think we might even see him leave

I'l repeat : I wouldnt mind sneijder for a low price, but i wouldnt mind if he didnt come. I will mind if he comes for a high price
