One thing is for sure Usa cannot rely on stronghand stuff as that will not work against the Ghanaians. They have to take their chances as well. Its no good if they keep creating good openings and doing nothing with them. As for Ghana, I have always felt Muntari is far awayu the best finisher in the squad and it will be interesting to see who will score for them as both scorers are out thru suspension. Amazing how every group Italy finds itself in, its always tight or they make it tighter than it should be. Good luck to all 4 teams

Ghana are prolly the only team amongst the three (the other two being the Czechs and USA) not to have played a particularly bad game thus far, so I'm backing them to go through and give Brazil a run for their money.

My boys played well, and even though they could have given a little more effort, I cannot say I'm ashamed by them. They played hard and Bruce Arena is really the one who made the mistakes this time around. We had absolutely no luck during this World Cup, and it does not help when the referees are seemingly against you during the whole tournament. I have never seen such abysmal refereeing and such a weak penalty given.

We hit the post three times during this World Cup. I guess the ball wasn't on our side either. Here we come for 2010 with Clint Dempsey leading the way.

Bruce Arena isn't much of a coach IMO. Anyways, I'm glad that Ghana made it through, especially for Appiah, just a shame that it had to happen this way.

the u.s.a didnt get really any breaks in the whole tourny but i dont think by watching all 3 of their games they deserved to go onto the next round.....they played good against italy but you need to play good all 3 games not 1

Bad luck to us.a , they were not good enough to qualify from this group but they were hampered by refereeing decisions throughout. I don't know why anybody would rate Merk as a referee, he is just an idiot and i hope he gets the final as that would mean Germany would not be there. He and Poll are both plonkers but the Mexican referee with sheen inhis hair and i think a ponytail is the absolute worst, what a showboat
Still when you start giving the ball away like Reyna did, you are bound to be punished and poor finishing and lets be honest quality let them down

I consider Merk as a very overrated referee nowadays as he is not even close to Collina. The only referee that I look up to is Shamsul Maidin, hope he will have a good game for the rest of the tournament.

The man is giving me every indication that he should stick to the insides of German mouths instead of the insides of stadiums.
