Exactly...I hope that we will not watch the figuring at the end.
I want a clear win,and Lippi maybe curbed Totti,but he definitely failed with De Rossi..every Roma player is a potential disaster.

    Ummm, I'm not sure if that is correct. If Italy beats the Czech Republic, that means the Czechs finish with only three points. If the United States beats Ghana, that means we finish with four points because we tied Italy. That would mean we go through in the second spot and Italy finish first.

    Look for the US to have most of the possession or attemp to do so with Dempsey and most likey Convey to push up on the flanks and Reyna to play a deeper central mid role in order to slow Essien and Appiah's counter with Donovan pushing forward to support the two forwards. McBride and Johnson should give Ghana's defense trouble as Johnson is a speedy pure striker and McBride can win in the air. Also watch to see how the squirrely Winson does with the crosses to McBride. Look for lots of flick and for Johnson to play off McBride. The cool thing about this tactic is that if the US score an early goal the wings can collapse forming a five man back line and still give enough depth in the center of the field for quick counters. For reference see any US - Mexico game between 2001 and the present, except this year because we play a 4-4-2.

    That side looks somewhat unbalanced, especially on the right flank. Dempsey is not all that good defensively and Conrad will not be comfortable drifting out to the flank due to being somewhat immobile, so we will be exposed on our right side. I believe it would make more sense to field Cherundolo instead of Conrad at rightback because on the left we have Lewis and Convey who can come back and defend. I'm not sure about the back three against a team that is fast on the wings and plays a 4-4-2, however I like the line of four attacking midfielders.

    O'Brien is still a good player and can perform the duty of keeping track of Appiah. If Giannichedda can do it I'm sure O'Brien is capable of it as well. :rolleyes:

    True. I can't say I know the US team too well, but O'Brien looks very shaky to me. As much as I'd like to see Ghana win (mind you, that's even in Italy's disadvantage), because they played so well against the Czechs, I can see them choking.

    O'Brien could perhaps be our best all-around player. He was out of action for a long time due to injury, and I doubt he'll ever be back to his best. But O'Brien can still perform the task of holding in front of the defense and is also quite a quick player, so I have confidence in his abilities. And as I said before, he is also better with the ball than Mastroeni, and we desperately need help on the attack and scoring goals.

    Against Ghana we must clog the midfield, just like we did against Italy, because now that is where their biggest threat will lie. If we do that and have the same passion and fire in our bellies as we did on Saturday, we will shut down Appiah and win this match.
