I was not impressed by GTA 4 at all. It was boring in the extreme.

I see how can you think that, but to me it's still way more replayable than something like assassin's creed for example. Plus V seems that it will be more inline with San Andreas than IV.

True, I'm having a hard time just playing AC3 through the first time.

Disappointing compared to GTA SA. And Niko's speaking Croatian or Serbian was hilarious and strange. To me at least they didn't hit it.
This game I see as more of a story driven. If you follow it closely it can get you hooked but if you're just planning to go hastily through the game don't bother.
