The moment has arrived. Exactly two weeks after a dominant opening day victory over Nordsjaelland, the Primavera are preparing to end their Viareggio Cup campaign on a high by overcoming defending Italian champions Roma. The game is to be played at the Bresciani stadium in Viareggio, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

Juventus are aiming to clinch their eighth victory of the prestigious youth tournament, with six of these coming in the last ten years. It is the first time that Juventus and Roma have met each other in the final. The previous encounters between both sides show that the clash is evenly poised. The Bianconeri have won three, drawn three and lost three against the Giallorossi.

Recent form, however, dictates that Juventus have the upper hand after overcoming today’s opponents in their last three Viareggio encounters – all semi-finals. The first was decided by Christian Manfredini’s strike in 1994. Ten years later, in 2004, Raffaele Palladino and Giovanni Bartolucci found the target. And the last meeting resulted in a resounding 4-0 Bianconeri triumph, with Pietro Zammuto, Andrè Cuneaz, Michele Paolucci and Riccardo Maniero on the scoresheet in 2006.
