According to the german newspaper 'BILD' Juve is after Rafael van der Vaart of Hamburger SV.Juve is just offering 10 m € which is more than too less for such a player.BILD asked him about the interest of Juve: 'It's a honour that a great club like Juventus is interested in me.',he responded.
I don't think the source is very reliable because it also says: Nedved told his Czech friends that vdV will register the Juve-midfield. wtf?!

Juve baggert an van der Vaart
-----------------------------

Da will ich unbedingt mal spielen.“

Jetzt baggert also Juve an van der Vaart.

the dumbest decision he made was to join Hamburg
No that wasn't dumb at all, he wanted to play as a number 10. HSV garanteed him that would be his position. He knew this would by a good way in order to get eyed by better club. And he also wanted to leave Ajax because he couldn't learn anything anymore in Holland. It was a good decision based on the attention he gets now.

I am big fan of VDV. He is deceptively versatille. I don't think he has the physique to play out and out striker in Italia, but he would be outstanding rotational player to cover Nedved and Alex since both are at stages of career when you should not be surprised with an injury or two. Only problem as Erik mentioned long time ago is VDV is injury prone himself. But for value for money out there, I cant see better one available without the help of good scouting network.

He has done pretty well. Now Bayern (and Juventus?) wants him...
i know he's done well.i just dont see the meaning of it.When Milan-Man utd-Arsenal and Juve wanted him at the time.I think he would have reached stardom by now if he went to a big club at that time.

So you don't think it's smart to play at a smaller club where you are the best, and then move to a big club, instead of going to a big club where you "drown" and stop your development?

Nowadays he has more choose for clubs and have a bigger chance to be a starter, I believe at that time his talent might have gone to waste on the bench...

van der vaart is fantastic and of course juventus should be looking at him, especially considering we need a playmaker, so i wouldnt label this news as unreliable if the club has any sense

I dont know about the other teams but IMO he would have been converted to a winger in Arsenal, got a starting place and continued his development under Wenger. And Pires was declining so we were looking for a replacement at the time.

I agree with that, it was pretty smart by Rafael as he was coming off a mediocre season with Ajax despite his talent and he wanted to gain experiance in a club where the spotlight wouldn't always be on him. Now he might be ready to move on to a bigger club, but his injuries are a big worry for the potential buyers.

But wouldn't it perhaps be fair to say that you are a bit biased?

He wouldn't fit the bill as a winger. It would stop his development.
