    Yeah. I notice people from Ontario love this city for some reason! It's nothing special (other than the women).

    Ahh, but the drinking age is 18... plus there's some nice architecture, and it's one of the best cities in Canada for live music.

    But seriously, the drinking age is 18. :D

    When I was 18, my school's hockey team had a momentous, couple thousand dollar night at the rippers, in beautiful Montreal. We had a bunch of 16-17 y/o's running around with some ridiculously bad fake IDs, broke curfew by 4+ hours when we had a morning game the next day... but we did win the tournament.

    We were completely busted when we got back to the hotel, but I think because our coach didn't want to get in trouble, and maybe in part because we won the tournament, administration didn't find out, and nobody got suspended. All's well that ends well.

    Awww... I'm starting to get nostalgic... ;)

    YES! This is key as well. Rollie, you're originally from Cornhole...errr...Cornwall, right? That's pretty close to Quebec.

    Ahhh... Cornhole. That place smells disgusting! I think it's the paper plants there, or something like that? I should really know this... I dated a girl from Cornwall in 1st year University, and went for a visit.

    I'm actually from Kingston, Max... you were pretty close though. We didn't have the paper plant issue... although we did have 6 penitentiaries... :D

    Ah, Kingston...it's a nice little city. Is it any wonder you like the Bruins?
    Funny, isn't it? Close to Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa... but no, I'm a Bruins fan. Definitely a lot of chirping during my youth...

    Only thing worthwhile about Kingston is the homecoming they have, to be fair!
    Actually, there are quite a few nice things about Kingston - it obviously depends on what a person is looking for.

    To be honest, I'm glad I don't live there anymore, but it wasn't a bad place to grow up. There's some solid history there, some pretty good academic institutions, solid youth sports leagues (at least there were back in the day), lake Ontario (which is awesome for water sports - Kingston has awesome wind), very close proximity to the USA/a ton of islands (for day trips, etc.) Quite a few little festivals, and the like. Actually, for a city of its size, Kingston has a fair bit to offer.

    As an adult, it's not a place to go and party, not by any stretch of the imagination (Unless you're going to house parties). The bar scene is brutal, but the constant fights are pretty entertaining (which is what happens when you have RMC/St. Lawrence/Queen's students, plus soldiers from Fort Drum in town taking advantage of currency conversion).

    A lot of the Cops are redneck fucks, etc.

    What were you in Kingston for Adriano? Visiting some Queen's students, or something?

    Yeah, like five or six years ago (for their homecoming). You probably remember that incident with the car getting flipped over and burned? Meanwhile police had a bunch of things tossed at them. Was a laugh, at the time, in that delinquent sorta way... Apparently they canceled subsequent ones afterward?

    -edit. Found an article about it, actually.

    Oh, I remember it. I grew up about 7-8 blocks off campus.

    I remember them canceling homecoming, but I'm not sure what the status is now. It's probably running in some shape, or form. I really have no idea. Those were some great house parties... I can remember being 17 (and older), and just trashed at those things.

    They probably had some pretty crazy parties after the Gaels won the National championship a couple years back... that would have been fun.

    I left Ontario in 2006 and haven't been back to Kingston since - might swing through this summer when I visit friends in T.O... it's just such a mission coming from Van though, and time will be limited.

    @Rollie,

    How's Vancouver in terms of nightlife, anyway? I've passed through the airport there countless times, but never actually ventured into the city.

    @V,

    "I can't breathe, dog!"
