Travian
is a game developed by Travian Games GmbH, they designed and programmed a great game which won the Game Awards in 2006 (Germany)

The basics:

Step 1

This is how you start...

...and later your village could look like that.

In the beginning your small village will have just one building.

We will show you how to expand your village so that it becomes a mighty and prosperous city below.

Step 2

1. choose a resource field

2. extend the resource field

There are four different types of resources in Travian: wood, clay, iron and crop.

Before you expand your village`s buildings, you should develop some resource fields to increase your resource supply

Step 3

1. choose building site

2. construct a building

After taking care of your resource supply you can start the expansion of your village.

A warehouse and a granary enable you to store more resources. A cranny saves your resources from getting stolen by enemy raiders.

Step 4

Your village and your neighbors

You are not alone in Travian. You interact with thousands of players in the world of Travian.

The players in your surrounding are most important to you. Thanks to the map you have a good overview of who they are.

Step 5

The navigation bar

1. Overview: Here you find your resource fields
2. Center: In the village you can build buildings
3. Map: Here you can have a look at your village`s surrounding and your neighbors
4. Statistics: Ranking of all players
5. Reports: Information on happenings in your village
6. Messages: Send and receive messages

and there is something called "Alliance" ppl make that u can join for protection from ur nearby enemies or sending products to ur village

yeah , its too slow ( the server ) , and its too complicated , maybe u find it fun but for me and some ppl i know , noooooooooo

I play on slovenian #2 server for like 5 months, and I am not very good....
I also played on croatian #2 server and I was quite good until whole croatia attacked me.....

Pretty fun game but you can only do so much in one day.

I stopped playing after I became someone's bitch. The game doesn't protect newbies at all; the two wake protection doesn't mean anything when you have neighbors who have been playing for months and years.

It's quite tough as a beginner but if you get your crannies cranked up chances are that you will survive if no one has catapults around your area. A smooth mouth surely helps as diplomatic negotiations ease some tensions. A strong alliance goes a long way to protect your resources before the major wars.
BTW am on server 2 & building close to 10k troops infantry. I have demolished quite a number of strong villages too.
