Al Ittihad Want Eto’o Or Kaka In December!
11/9/2005 2:31:00 PM
The president of Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad wants to loan Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o or Milan’s Kaka for ten days in December to help his side in the Fifa World Club Championship.
The tournament, which will feature Liverpool, takes place from December 11 to 18.

Mansour Al Balawi is reportedly ready to offer a huge sum of money for the ten-day loan of one of these players, although it remains to be seen whether the clubs in question would be open to the move.

Al Ittihad, who boast the talents of Mohamed Kallon and Joseph-Desire Job, were crowned Asian champions at the weekend after defeating Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates.

Wow, getting desperate are we? :D

that is the stupidest thing i've ever heard!

ten days? for a player to accustomise himself to the language, teammates, weather, culture, coach, tactics and for the coach to find time to fit him into the formation.

Bullshit.

I disagee. Reread WHY they want one of the players.
While the gap is big, it's not that big where any player would do wonders in that short time, specially playing against other top internatioanl teams from around the world.

As for what I think for this attempt; It's pathetic, sad, and illogical. Shows that they are desperate despite the fact that they just won the Asian CL. This attempt is a blow to the moral of those players who helped Al-Itihad win the cup.

I say, go to the World Club Championship with pride and give confidence to your players. Fight for it and lose with dignity. Not win with a fake team.

It pisses me off to see this mentality, but i'm not surprized. Al-Nasser did this around 5 or 6 years ago when they went to the world club championship and they got loads of stars from local teams (rivals too), and some International vetarans.

Now, KSA clubs are almost as bad as Qatar.

Milan midfielder Kaka has rejected reports that he could play for Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad in the World Club Cup in December.

The gifted Brazilian is wanted for the Fifa-endorsed tournament, that will also involve Liverpool, but it seems highly unlikely that the player's Italian taskmasters would concur on any such deal.

Al-Ittihad have the kind of financial resources that are the envy of many of Europe's biggest clubs but Kaka, arguably one of the world's best players, remains more than content in Milan.

Kaka has released a statement, through a spokesman, declaring that any such talk remains speculation and that he will continue to concentrate his efforts solely on Milan and Serie A.

''It's not true that Kaka is in negotiation to play in the World Club Cup,'' said the player's representative.

''He has no intention of playing in that tournament. All that has been said is speculation.

''Kaka is very comfortable at Milan and hasn't received any proposal from anywhere else.''

What a load of crap... Who comes up with this stuff?

Just because they can get a big player on loan doesn't mean that they have the financial power to sign the top stars in the world.
