I see it as a bunch of layabout tosspots evading our pitiful asylum system, then living off the fvcking awful state benefit scheme then throwing it all in our faces by blowing up the hand that feeds them in the name of a goddam religion. I think the chance of any WW3 happening is severely diminished. Which is why conflicts like civil wars and terrorism are all the rage.

You're so right, snoop. Maybe I'm more of an optimist than I give myself credit for, but I compare the hate scenario in the world today and compare it to WW II 65 years ago, or 200 years ago, or even more... and I don't necessarily get the feeling that our modern day "the world is ending" fears are any different nor worse than those that came generations before us.

Jesus told the people he was the son of God. Is it likely that Jesus really was God's son? I don't think so. Is it likely that Maria got him without having sex? Hardly.
Is it likely that Jesus was a troublemaker that had a hard time walking between the lines? Yes. Is it likely that Jesus was no more than some ordinary gang leader who decided to create his own religion because it was convenient? Yes. So with Jesus creating uproar and being no more than your everyday thug, was his crucifiction partly justified? Yes.
Please, Jesus is definitely no better than Mohammed.

While I am not for literal translation of any scriptures, given the importance of the context of a society and its era when it wrote them, I do find it interesting to see more of the analysis of Jesus as a political figure of the times, and not just a religious one. It's an interpretation that most of Christianity seems to miss, and it has real resonance from a historical perspective.
From a third party perspective, Christ was a revolutionary -- a la Che Guevara 1900 years later -- who represented a threat to the religious/political structures of both Rome and Judaism at the time.
