Creativity?

Then again I think Zambrotta is creative.
He is creative I agree, however there is one thing about him I don't like. SOmetimes I feel he's not that bright. I actually admire his game and his willingness to give but had he been smarter he would have been in a much higher class, probably in a class of his own.

I'm not sure I agree there. If by "smart" you mean getting out of tough situations and handling the ball in a cunning way when he's between two or three players from the opposition team, I think he is smart. I agree he doesn't always know what to do with the ball when running forward though. When he's in a shooting position he will always shoot, while players like Del Piero or Trezeguet would go for an additional dummy in order to make it a lot easier for themselves.

its because he adapted himself to the role he has on the team,
he would propaby even handle a place upfront if needed and then become more complete offensively,
we built him that way to cover our needs...

i remember when lippi first started to use him as a LB and i had my doubts as to whether he could play there, i remember watching the game v man u 3 years ago when he had a bit of a shocker and thinking he could not do it. how wrong i was, zambrotta took it on board swallowed his pride and got on with it, he then went on to become the best and most consistent LB in world football. at the moment he is doing what he always does and puts the team first by moving position to cover for injuries and to give a young player a chance. zambrotta is the epitome of the consummate professional and when alex retires/leaves he must be a serious contender for the captaincy.

Exactly, that confirms how I see him. These things he's done are acquired, either from training or from experience. You said sometimes he doesn't know what he has to do when he runs forward, had he got this spark I am talking about, he will be able to pull out something and probably each time it will be more cunning than the other.

Zambrotta was at one point vice captain when Tacchinardi wasn't getting games, Capello then unceremoniously put Thuram ahead in the pecking order. :undecide:

Hey Desmond, have you noticed how Ancelotti has been using the 'blame the referee' quite often lately? I know you would have noticed that.
