Pizarro and De Rossi have always been first choice for Spaletti, Pizarro in fact was always a favourite of his, so i don't know how Aquilani was a starter.

As for the comparison of Song and Marchisio, they won't even compete with each other for the same spot, Song is our DM, the man that screens our defense and plays as the holding mid. Claudio can't play that role, so he would actually be competing with Wilshere and Fabregas for a spot on the team.
No.. when Aquilani was fit, Pizzarro went to the bench.

About Marchisio and Song, that was exactly my point...............

You forget that Roma played a 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 under Spalletti with Totti alone in attack.
Who said i forgot.

They played a 4-2-3-1, with two central midfielders in De Rossi and Pizarro. Wingers were Taddei and Mancini, while it was always Perrotta that played behind the lone striker who was Totti. Aquilani was competing with Pizarro for a spot on the Roma team.

I'm pretty sure that isn't true. Pizarro has always been a favorite of Spaletti's.

They played mostly a 4-2-3-1 with Aquilani positioned slightly above De Rossi and Pizzaro...atleast that was how they started their 2008/2009 season. Later he got dropped down the pitch, playing alongside De Rossi, and eventually he lost his place to either injuries or out of form in the mid-season.

This is how they often played due to Aquilani's injury proneness, but when he was fit he was usually slotted into the advanced role or instead of Pizarro.

Would you say Marchisio isn't a regular for Juve this season? He's moved around a bit but still plays often enough for him to be a regular. Even if that means he does not have a defined position in the team to be "regular" in.

Could you guys tell something more about Beck, what kind of a RB he is, offensive/defensive?, what are his main attributes?

Lass Diarra :hellyes:

Check Luca's comment, I think it says it all. He is very good defensively; intelligent, quick and is never scared to put in a rough tackle. Not sure about him offensively, but some of the guys here say he's good at that too. He would compliment Krasic really well.

Bro, you really think Liverpool would pay over 20 M for Roma's bench warmer?

I remember the guy used to play regularly for Roma unless he was injured.

He did. And when in form he was a little bit below world class. About him not playing for Liverpool. Benitez was stupid. He bought an injured player who had been injured the most of the season with Roma.

Aquilani was first choice when he was fit. Of course, Aquilani was unfit a lot of the time.
