Why break the bank for Modrić only to use him as a winger...
Well I was first and foremost talking about him in comparison with Nasri. But would Modric command a bank-busting fee? And I would not mind having quality on the left, especially a guy who could play middle also.

Beck and Ziegler are good enough for a Juventus struggling to get a European ticket. Nothing more. They are better than our current fullbacks for sure , but mediocre all in all.
I hope we could go for better options.
they are both solid players...them 2 and Fucile and we're good.

A) Long term contract until 2016.
B) Wages.
C) Played in the Champions League this season.
D) Has some Croatian contingent and best friend Ćorluka already there.
E) He's playing for an English team who sold Berbatov for £30m, Carrick for £18m. Of course a key player like Modrić would mean a fee similar to these.
F) At the time he was their record signing at £16.5m
G) His agent and Redknapp both said he will be staying put in the summer.

But it seems like you could compile a list like that for most of the names discussed on this sub-board, and most would command even more money, no? I have a hard time believing Neymar is coming here for example. I'm not arguing for Modric btw, I don't like the thought of going after any big name, the numbers I see tossed around make me feel queasy, downright nauseous when it comes to strikers. I'd just as soon try to scout real hard for a no-name from Korea or Mexico. Is Marchisio staying on the left? The #1 thing I liked about hearing Modric's name come up at all is if he's on the left Marchisio is more likely to be in the middle. I really wanted to think the club was thinking along those lines.

They are both CMFs and are just a waste of space when played on the wing.

Lol at your Max Keiser av, would be funny if he was running Juve's finances hehe.
I know, it would be sweet. He would have bought silver instead of Almiron and now we'd have three times the transfer funding. He'd be an amazing replacement for Blanc, especially in how he'd deal with Moratti in the media.

:D
