No more midfieders please. Confirm Candreva and let Ekdal come back. No new faces. Camoranesi might be done as a starter but we'll have Giovinco, Marchisio, DC, Ekdal, Candreva, Diego, Melo, Sissoko, Poulsen. Yeah a few are not my favs but good luck selling them. Fact is you can make several formations with those guys and still have Camo and Brazzo as reserves with youth players coming up. They have blasted more money on the middle than any other position. Settle the defense and land an attacker. Done, anything else and Bettega is letting us down.

He was completely at fault for Bastos goal, but other than that he was brilliant going forward and really good defensively, he cut out a lot of balls actually. He's rather unpolished and can make some mistakes and have his lapses of concentration sometimes, but that will improve with time and experience imo.

He played there when he was at Metz, was even played on the right hand side of the attack in a 4-3-3 in his first season at Lyon. When he was at Metz he did rather well in that position because he had the complete freedom to roam and move to the center, at Lyon when he was more restricted he didnt do too well on the wing and was eventually benched, it was only this season when they started playing him as an offensive CM did he really live up to his true potential.

So to answer your question, yes he can play there, but it would be a complete waste of his talent.

We don't have to get Candreva. It's only an option to buy. I'd rather sell a DM to bring in a better ball-playing midfielder but that's just me. Nobody here nor in charge will want to have anything but destroyers in central midfield.

Hmm, I don't remember him being deployed out wide like that, but it could be because he always floated inside. Saw maybe three Metz matches when he was there though.
