I don't know why Danny didn't go to Greece. They are real fanatics.I watched "The Balkans",i and i must say that they are faked the whole story about themselves(Bad Blue Boys,Torcida and Grobari). The truth is that they are HC hooligans, but not so HC as they represent themselves. Also, trught is that Zare(Grobari) rapped Parangal(Torcida or Bad Blue Boys)."Italy"-Vlatko there are no milanisti or interisti, cause they have good coreo and atmosphere on terrace, but they are not HC at all.
So the whole Zare story is all a lie? please tell us more.

No.It's true story. In 1989-1990,member of Torcida,Parangal, came to Partizan stadium as guest. After the game Parangal,Zare and some other members of Grobari went for a drink. After a few drinks,Parangal started to talk some dirty things about Grobari and Serbia. Then Zare and his frineds took Parangal to the grave of theirs hero(i think it was grave of Dragan Mance,Grobari's favourite player ever). When they came to the spot,Zare said to Parangal that he must kiss the grave.Parangal said that he won't kiss the grave of serbian footballer. He also said some dirty things about Mance.Zare was pissed off.Zare said to Parangal:"If you don't kiss the grave,i'll f**k you".Parangal didn't kiss the grave and Zare rapped him.Since that "event",there is a song on south terrace(Grobari's terrace),and it says:"White Tulip is opened,Zare f**ked Parangal!".It doesn't rhyme on english, but on serbian it is a proper song.

P.S.Sorry if my english is bad.

:lol2:

Zare was a double account by Andy. Funny thing is he wrote Yugoslavia as his location...confirming the stereotype that Americans don't know their geography.

ps: Well not confirming but certainly fueling.

Sorry Burke but I can't let this one slide...

If you take a look at your profile, Serbia is not an option and Yugoslavia is the only nation in the region available. So I chose the closest. If I really didn't know anything about geography, I probably wouldn't have chose Novi Sad as my location. Think about it.

And for your info, I probably know more about geography than you, Tahir.

Just found this thread...

the Russian episode was real strange; they seem to square up in equal numbers, beat the living daylights out of each other, then, after everyones shagged, they pick each other up, shake hands and go for a drink...how 'civilised is that?

The south American episodes were real scarey...and exiting.

The atmospheres at the games seemed unbelievable...I'm going there someday for sure, but the away games were freaky...police escorts and then armed shootouts...wild west stuff.

Awesome series...but you get the impression that its a little exagerated...but who cares, great entertainment.

...and the Dutch...so much for all that gange calming everyone down!:disagree:

Yeah it's a lot exagerated and at the same time it's not. What I mean is most of the people that were interviewed, I don't think they were the biggest hooligans or the most respected ones. A few groups like Delije from Crvena Zvezda refused to participate and I can't shake the feeling those guys from Partizan's Grobari were just some bums they found on the street wearing Partizan's scarfs. Those two guys from Dinamo and Hajduk were a joke, I don't thik they're known in the hooligan society here at all because here whoever is President of the Supporters group and in association with the club itself is labeled a pussy among the true hardcore.

Some shows seemed more realistic than others but all in all a enjoyable watch, the Italian one was most disapointing IMO, then again it could be because they couldn't find the proper people to do it.

I found the Balkan episode the most intense and thought provoking.

With the veiled suggestion of football fans being linked to death squads, and postulating that football was the vital spark which started the war, took the whole concept of football firm rivalry to a new level alien I imagine to almost all who viewed it - even an Old Firm fan.
