The board knew that the "5 year plan" idea with Deschamps coaching was not going to be feasible. They have to get it right in two years, top four next year and CL the next season. Without these results (or potential this summer) it's bye bye Buffon, Trez, Camo etc and with it bye bye club identity. For a business as well as a team this would be suicide and DD simply didn't seem to have their full backing despite the (only very recent) press to the contrary.

Most of us complained about the quality of Juve's play this season: Boumsong, where were Bojinov or Giovinco, throwing away leads, early Coppa exit. The board saw this too and clearly feel that the positives from this season were more down to the character of the players than the coach's quality.

DD has been courting other options all season. He has not had his eyes shut to what was going on. Yes, he is Juventino and yes he came when the deduction was crippling but he never expected the deduction to stick - possibly not even the demotion (which he acknowledged in the press). Plus it's not like other clubs were clamouring for him at the time; Lyon could have gone for him then instead of Houillier..

So while this episode does leave a bad taste in the mouth it is perhaps the best decision for all concerned. If Juve have been professional and even a bit callous is it any worse than when we sold Baggio or Zizou - and moved onto better things as a result? This instinct is inherent in the Juve DNA , and maybe necessary for the first year back with the sharks in Serie A.

Vinni, honestly, I know you're big on evaluating matches, but just shut the fuck up this time. You've been a Juventino far longer than me... show some respect FFS.
I'll just assume that at 5 in the am you are still pretty drunk...and a miserable one at that !!:p

Andy, lets remember that football is a business, dont take it so personally

DD did what was asked of him- get the strongest team of Serie B back into A

IMO, I dont think DD has the coaching ability to take us to the top of Serie A and the CL

on the other hand, I dont think that Guidolin or Novellino can do it either, so this board better do the right think and Get Lippi back in here...or even Prandelli

this is exactly the point.. we do not have time to make expierence. I mean if DD was not able to make impact in serie A, then we will be a team like Fiorentina or lazio for the next years... we need an expierenced and good coach to bring us to the top as soon as possbile.. Just imagine to be in Buffons place, won`t you be more optimistic and decide to stay with juve if you have lippi as a coach rather than DD??

Secondly, Moggi moved on to Deschamps' future with Juve.

"Deschamps has been reconfirmed as Juventus coach and he therefore will stay," he said.

"If he were to leave, then Sampdoria coach Novellino would have taken over his job.

"I think that, in the end, Novellino will end up coaching Napoli."

IMO the current board seems weak and incapable of managing our club. No way DD wanted out becourse of Lyon gave him an offer. This shit happend because our directors fucked up in some way. Proberaly because of our transfer startegy. And you really can't blame DD for not agreing on Iaquinta and Mesto FFS.

I see one reason for iaquinta coming : considered useful for Lippi.
