Dont they just totally suck? Im in a net cafe and im hearing september ends.. its absolutely horse balls, as was American Idiot and that one where he is walking down that alley in the video. The older stuff used to be decent- then they came out with the new image and somehow lost all talent, they came out with songs that have a predictable forumla and lyrics that I can find in my bum.

Opinions?

My opinion: their debut album- "Dookie", which came out in 1995, was totally awesome.

Ten years have passed, and their music DID NOT CHANGE AT ALL!

So yes, their music sucks nowadays.

This is going to sound like such the whiney indie music poser tagline, but I used to listen to them on KALX in Berkeley (the student radio station) where they got tons of local airplay in the early 90s. Between them and My Bloody Valentine, it's almost as if you heard nothing but.

But by the time Dookie came out, I was already pretty saturated and didn't hear anything different from them musically for the past few years. And just at that time, promoters started dredging up a bunch of East Bay punkish bands like Offspring. :yuck: (I think I only ever appreciated those guys in the "Crazy Taxi" videogame.) Made me want to go back in time to the Mr. T Experience and listen to that instead...

That's exactly my point. No wonder alternative music is completely dying out. Offspring has followed the same path. When "Smash" came out with "Self Esteem" and "Come out and play" in 1995... everybody went "WOW". Their following album was EXACTLY the same! And the same applies to Bush, and Stone Temple Pilots, etc.

So what happened to the great alternative music of the 90s? Well, it stayed right there... in the 90s.

I dont Know your age but i will give an example of mmyself. When i was a teenager i was listened to heavy metal. When Metallica get around the the album Load i was very disapointed and i was slanged them. But now i am 23 and i listen the album and i dont realy care. And also some bands that i hated these years now i like them a lot. So if you are a teen i dont blame you.
