The kids convincingly beat Poland away. This team has a lot of potential. Most of them playing in Serie A regularly gives them a good advantage in the U21 games.

Berardi-Chiesa-Pellegrini combined for the first goal. Benassi scored the other one. Cerri missed a pk and scored offside.

The kids lost 2-1 to Spain in a game with a lot of quality. Saul scored for Spain (don't know who was the other kid, he headed from a bad clearance from Chiesa). For Italy, Berardi crossed for Pellegrini to smash it in again.

Spain had a lot of quality on show, experienced players like Saul, Asensio, Bellerin, Denis Suarez, Jonny, Inaki Williams and Borja Mayoral, so it was no shame to lose, but that is the level these kids need to play to.

Maybe the two best U21 teams out there. The kids have a real shot at the Eurocup in June.

Ventura said he would have to coordinate with Di Biagio regarding some players, so we'll see what squad they take. If the eligible players from the senior team join in, it can be a great team. Caldara, Rugani, Donnarumma, Gagliardini, Romagnoli and Bernardeschi could bring the team up a notch but there is Spain for the senior team on the horizon.

It was not to me, but I'll answer since I'm bored

Donnarumma; Barreca, Romagnoli, Rugani, Conti; Benassi, Gagliardini, Pellegrini; Bernardeschi, Petagna, Berardi

All of them being starters in Serie A (except Rugani) gives them an advantage over a lot of U21 squads.

Give me your optimal Italy U/21 starting lineup
Bear in mind that the Azzurrini could select Donnarumma, Bernardeschi, Gagliardini, Meret, Rugani, Romagnoli and Petagna for these qualifiers.

Otherwise:
Scuffet
(Audero)

Conti - Caldara - Mandragora - Masina
(Calabria) - (Ferrari) - (Biraschi) - (Barreca)

Cataldi - Benassi - Pellegrini
(Grassi) - (Locatelli) - (Sensi)

Berardi - Cerri - Chiesa
(Di Francesco) - (Favilli) - (Ricci)

Others: Gollini, Bonifazi, Romagna, Verre, Cristante, Orsolini, Bonazzoli

There's not a lot between Italy, Spain, England, France or Germany at that level, just whichever team turns up on the day.
Poland would have a nice team if only everyone would be available, but there's so much confusion right now that i can't say who will play there in the end. :D
From well known names we could have Milik, Zieliński, Linetty from Samp, Kapustka known from euro16 + some less known guys like Drągowski from Viola, Dawidowicz (Benfica/Bochum), Łasicki (Napoli/Carpi), Stępiński (Nantes), Bielik (Arsenal/Birmingham).

To be fair you could probably include a few other teams like Holland, Portugal and the usual suspects as well but maybe those five teams just have a bit more very high level experience.
