How could I forget...............

I think the midfield needs somebody creative in it and De Rossi is not and personally I think Marchisio will become better than De Rossi so I'd play him.

Still Italy can have a really good team I think for the next World Cup.

I would play this:-

Amauri

Balotelli-Cassano-Rossi

Marchisio-Pirlo

Santon-Chiellini-Bonucci-Motta

Buffon

For the Euro's the put perhaps Pazzini in for Amauri in the next World Cup and perhaps Poli for Pirlo.
Why does playing 4-2-3-1 make people think it is okay to play a team with four strikers in it?

Marchisio is nowhere near De Rossi's level at the moment.

Buffon, Chiellini and De Rosso are Italy's only top class international players at the moment.

Anyone who leaves one of them out would have to be crazy enough to think Defoe is better than Rooney.

Four years is a long time for Marchisio to mature though Andy. Perhaps I dislike De Rossi but I dont rate him so high.

Cassano,Balotelli and Rossi can all play SS.

I'm not saying Marchisio won't be in the team, but to put him in ahead of De Rossi is madness.

Cassano,Balotelli and Rossi can all play SS.
So?

You can't have a team in which four players won't defend.

Hell, you even had Pirlo in midfield, so other than the back four (which has two attacking full backs) you only have one player capable of defending at all.

Yeah.De Rossi is a good all around midfielder but not really creative.Still by far superior to Claudio right now.He isn't even that much older.I'd play both anyway.

    Buffon
    Motta Bonucci Chiellini Santon
    De Rossi Aquilani Marchisio
    Rossi Giovinco
    Balotelli

Aquilani is a big uncertainty, but if fit he could be more than useful.Cassano for Giovinco,if he can't get his act together at Parma/Bari.

Consigli just reminds me of Buffon, I've seen a few games in which I thought he was Buffon for a good part. :D I also feel he's not rated highly enough. He has many good traits, it's unfair!

I've been trying to do a 4-2-3-1 formation for Prandelli, and wingers are such a problem.

    Buffon
    Santon-Ranocchia-Chiellini-Criscito
    De Rossi-Aquilani-Marchisio
    Balotelli-Quagliarella-Rossi

Find a winger so Balotelli moves central and Quagliarella is benched.

    I do realise that's a 4-3-3.

I think Balotelli will play wide regardless, didn't Prandelli say as much? Put a centravanti in there, Pazzini maybe? There is always the Cassano option
