For some time now I've been thinking about getting tattoos. It is a tough decision that is pretty much final.
The only thing that is stopping me right now is the fact that it could be harmful when applying for jobs. I want tattoos on my arms which wouldn't be much of a problem if I work in a suit. I still have some thoughts about foloowing my mother's idea and becoming a doctor. Then I'm sure it would be a problem. A surgeon with tattoos wouldn't be very popular.

Is there anyone here who has tattoos and would like to share their experiences?

i have 5 that i've gotten done since i was 16, none of which have been a problem for me getting a good job. i graduated from college in '05 and got a very good job as a consultant. i'm still working here and its all good. i've seen doctors, lawyers and even teachers with tatoos, you have to understand that the new gen of the workforce are us -- the youth -- so you wont be the only one haha :D :p

As the last two posts have indicated it is such a tough decision. In my eyes it looks so good, but still some people get scared of it. Especially patients I guess.

I wish tattoos were like clothes. Wear it one day and throw them away the next.

    Yeah I guess so.

With tattoos it's pretty much all or nothing for me. I want to tattoo my forearms, not more not less. I want it to be a decorating thing not a symbolic thing with a girls name or a juve logo.

I'm now on the merge of finally getting a tattoo. It's supposed to be Daliish clock on my right calf.
I never wear shorts so the only time people would see it is when I'm swimming.

I choose a clock because time is one of the most abstract things in life, and one of the things we are most dependant of. There's so much philosophy in a clock. I've painted it on my calf with a pen and had it there for two weeks and I like it more and more every day.

I will of course post the result if I decide to finally do it. :)
