Genuine question. I keep seeing folks saying we should bring Fagioli and Rovella. Why do we think these are an upgrade on what we have?
On top of everyone else answers,
We have:
Arthur, great at keeping the ball, non-existant for attack.
Rabiot, very good defensively, non-existant in attack.
McKennie, can actually break the lines with his running and creates chances attacking space, terrible passing.
Locatelli, all-rounder, can contribute a lot in attack but needs to play back because the rest can't do it as well.
Ramsey, doesn't deserve to be explained.
So then Miretti and Fagioli are actual creative players.
Miretti very clearly offers something most of ours midfielders don't have: vision and verticality in passing.
Fagioli is the most attacking of all, he can dribble, pass, and create chances.
We shouldn't have 4 of our midfielders be donkeys with the ball in the final third. We need diversity and if we can supplement our team with young players that show great promise in area we lack then we should do it. Rovella is an actual DM/regista so he fits the same role as Arthur or Rabiot, but unlike them his skillset isn't that of half a player, he is more complete. Better to get rid of Arthur and bring Rovella imo.
