So basically we sold 1 starter so far(higuain) and brought in 4 starters. Everyone always talks about bringing in players that will make us more elite right?
And people still hate even though we are bringing in great players and only lost non starters. I love this MERCATO!!!!!
:agree:

Best mercato in years if it closed right now. The only starter we sold we upgraded to a 5 time Ballon d'Or winner and best player in CL history.

Aside from that we upgraded at GK, at CB, at RB, in CM.

Sure, it'd be nice to get one more established top CM, but this has been a fantastic mercato regardless.

Just hoping that the club understands that our weakest area of the team was not properly upgraded.Only Can is not enough imo.
That entirely depends on what kind of progress Bentancur makes. He showed flashes last season but looked very raw and inexperienced at times. However, he looked fantastic in the World Cup this summer. If he explodes this year, our midfield could be damn good.

We also reduced the wage bill with the departures of Asamoah, Lichtsteiner and Buffon. Particularly the latter

If we can sell off either Pjaca or Sturaro now, or both, I definitely believe in one more signing.

UN CRACK PER IL CENTROCAMPO
Like Really? Bonucci, Can, Ronaldo, Cancelo dont have any wages? Our wages have raisen instead.

Any official confirmation regarding that Ronaldo wage, btw? I'm referring to the reports which claimed that most of it will be sponsored by Exor / Fiat.

It really has to be the case, though, doesn't it? No way we can afford 60 million (gross) per season in wages for one player.

Even with sponsoring, though, I'm sure we're paying a huge part of it ourselves, up to 8-9 million (net) perhaps. So I see your point.

Our wages have indeed risen, but getting Asamoah, Lichty and Buffon off the books undoubtedly also helps a good deal in such a scenario. Another thing which has risen is our revenue, so I'm hoping we still have some money to throw around for a midfielder.

Im not being ironic just asking... how did our revenue grow? Did we get a new sponsoriship deal, TV rights? Because from jersey sales wont make much of difference. I would have been happy of one of Khedira, Sturaro even Matuidi leaving. Then our wages would be alright.

Yeah, Ronaldo here and we won't be increasing our revenue. :baus:

Sponsorship deals won't get better, commercial revenue won't grow. Nothing. :howler:

Never mind that the ticket price increases alone already are leading to plus 8 - 10 mil revenue.

Are there any 50 mil midfielders we can realistically get that would be on our first team? The most glaring weakness in our current starting midfield is probably Matuidi but I don't know who can replace him for 50mil

I feel sorry for Higuain, he’s still a great striker, he deserved better or at least CL football. I’m glad he stayed in Serie A though.

Yup, he would be good but don't think Madrid will want to sell to us :(

its good that Serie A appears to be strenghtening overall though. With resurgent Milan sides, Ancelotti led Napoli and Roma, will draw more fans to the league

Hope they all fail miserably. We don't need more fans. Ronaldo will bring enough by himself.
