I think my dream mercato would be Milinkovic-Savic, Bernardeschi, Conti, Spinazzola, Schick

The first 2 look hard to get sadly, Milinkovic-Savic just extended his contract with Lazio.

With Lichtsteiner, Asamoah, Lemina going out.
I think SMS is doable but would cost €40m+, Lazio are a club with revenues of about €80m. The Bernardeschi thing I just don't see happening at all, they surely won't sell to us.

Anyone from Atalanta or Sampdoria is open season for us.

I think Roma are easier to negotiate with compared to Lazio

Can see us snatching one of Paredes, Emerson (if Sandro gets sold) or just maybe Nainggolan off them. I wouldn't rule anything out.

I don't really like Paredes. And best non Radja Roma player who is good enough for us is Salah but that's unlikely too, so who thinking of?

He had an excellent game against us imo (Paredes).

And apparently our board prefers him over Tolisso atm.

Alex Sandro won't get sold.

There is more chance of us re-signing Boniek than Monggolan.
IMO, anything is possible. The last two years showed it.

No one believed we will ever pay 90 million for a player. Who thought Pjanic will ever sign for Juve?

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed someone from Napoli again, maybe Mertens.

Agreed. I was considering 40+m as hard to get. I don't know if the club see Sergej as the player they wanna splash that amount of cash on.

Mertens has no genuine obstacles, just a professional looking out for his career, even if sale to us is unlikely.

But there is zero chance for Radja, zero. Stop this silliness just few days ago he mentionned again his animosity with Juve and how he enjoyed how he silenced our fans insulting chants with goal.

Radja is a great all-around player, but I think SMS could be even better, the guy has all the tools, he is like Matic 2.0 - big, strong guy, but more versatile.

That would be unbelieveable if Radja joined us. It would be a unique story though.

I think we only took Roma's best and Napoli's best because of Release clauses. We wont overpay silly if there's no release clause as the club can just damn right refuse and the player wont risk going behind his clubs back. It aint gonna happen, we wont see Mertens and wont see Radja here.

With release clauses anyone can sign for Juve. Without, no, there's almost no chance those two players would be allowed to join Juve. It would have been funny to see what ADL would have said if Juve offered €90m without the release clause, however.

Mertens would be less of a surprise because his contract is expiring, but surely the above applies and if he doesn't extend then ADL will sell to EPL for highest bidder.

He wouldn't. He would have waited for some EPL team, even if he had to risk and make Higuain very upset.
Yeah I agree, he wouldnt, he would have all the fans turn on him and thats would have prooved costly in the long run. At the end he probably would have still sold Higuain, just maybe not for that much.

Not even EPL teams are crazy enough to pay €90m for Higuain.
$60m however, would have been possible.

We are linked with Koulibaly from Pescara (FI)
It being said that Pescara might ask for the loan of Orsolini&Favilli
Honestly I dont know this guy but I hoped Orsolini could be loaned to a Serie A side rather than play another season in Serie B

Higuain is a great player and he carried Napoli on his back!
Mertens is different as Napoli had to adjust to the loss of Higuain and changed to style that is less dependent on 1 player therefore they all play better but their start striker cannot do what the former did..
Mertens is great because of the great support he received
Napoli were great because Higuain was great
Mertens at Arsenal? they already have better players
Mertens at Tottenham? the same
Mertens at City? even their subs are better
Mertens at Chelsea (see City)
Mertens at Liverpool? He could be ok but wouldnt be so great there...
Mertens at Man Utd? Seems like a slightly improved Rashfurd and with their money they could aim much better...

Mertens doesn't seem a good fit for us. In recent years it just hasn't been the type of player we use a lot.

Even thinking about Nainggolan is insane imo. He has insulted us over and over and over again, and frankly I think he must pay by continuing his winless streak at Roma.

I wasn't advocating for Mertens, he can't play false 9 with us...

But saying he is more possible to sign since I doubt he would object to coming. But it would require crazy sum to convince ADL when he can sell for less to EPL. Plus Mertens is over 30 right? Not worth the headache of negotiating with ADL.
