So... just in the last hour

- Todibo gone to West Ham
- Atalanta putting up a wall for Koopmeiners. La Dea is not open to selling him for now. (According to Gazzetta)
- Mckennie will turnd down Fiorentina so that makes Nico's deal harder
- Galeno transfer on hold

If Giuntoli is cooking can anybody tell him he is burning the food!!!
I hope Mckennie burns this stupid Nico deal. He would be a hero in my eyes if he wrecks this nonsense.

Wes please save us from ourselves.

I'm refering to missing out on Todibo only. And who's our new CB? Cabal? Djalo?
Yes at least we've secured Cabal, a fresh air compared to Rugani and gatti

That's why I said in the Giuntoli thread, I'll give him a minus point if he fails to get koop + 1 winger, I'm specifically omitted the requirement of another new CB

As for the rest of the positions, be real, as long as our players are under expensive payroll, being hardasses like Harry Potter and Mr church, and on top of that have been devalued by the previous coach, we can't sell them...

And thus we can't have enough liquid assets to fund that many 40+ million euro players.

Even in FM, if the random AI throws all of that shit into you, you will be like the real Giuntoli right now.

OK Todibo was a bit of a disaster. Let us look forward. Giuntoli needs to pivot.

First, some perspective. So far, our defence has not changed much since last season and I would argue that our biggest weakness last year was not our defence. We added Cabal only. So my view is, if we cannot find someone at Todibo's level - I would be careful to panic buy a player that we will end up wanting to sell shortly after.

Perhaps the plan C for defence might very well end up being to pull Djalo and Rugani off the market and work with them until we find an opportunity on the market for a quality centre back.

Given that McKennie is being difficult and will not accept whatever salary Fiorentina would be willing to offer him as part of an exchange deal for Nico Gonzalez - I also wouldn't pursue that guy and let him join Atalanta to get the Koop deal done and dusted.

My hope is that Enrico Chiesa convinces his son and the club to renew a 2 year extension at around 4-5m a year and focus on fewer objectives.

All of the above will allow us to close Koopmeiners at 50+5 and go for Galeno at 30-35m. In the meantime do what we can in getting rid of Arthur, McKennie, Tek, and Kostic. Keep Milik. So finalising 2 deals and renewing Chiesa will pretty much close our mercato.

Overall, the team will see no meaningful improvement in Defence. A HUGE improvement in midfield and a small improvement in attack. A good midfield helps your defence a lot though. If we can nail down Koop and Galeno and renew Chiesa - then we can go into the last week of the mercato ready to exploit any last minute opportunities without stressing too much.

The thing is, a ball playing defender is important for motta. The same reason why he need a 4th goalie, he want the build up form the back to go smoothly.
Losing todibo and calafiori is more of our persistance to sign koop, while we already have luiz and thuram in midfielder. We could've sign cheaper option like merino or fabian and put luiz in koop position.

So first choice Calafiori lost to Arsenal, but luckily we have second choice Todibo. Now if we lose him , we go for third choice but so far no names,

I also forgot to mention Chesney the Polak to be added to the bunch of hardasses that are working against Giuntoli...

He said he understands the club, yet refuses to move to another club that can only pay half the wage or something.

He's not a prime Buffon ffs, he's a 35 years old mediocre GK with 6.5 million euro wage or such, unmovable if he doesn't want to back down from his fantasy, just retire already! @Lion

Or the other option would be to go for a solid right back and move Danilo to centre back.

I trust Danilo can be our Calafiiori. Word have preferred Todibo but that’s over now.
