Not sure why people are so obsessed with Soule. He had half a good season to completely disappear in the second round. He wasn't called up for the Argentina NT either. He's still a gamble and we got 30mln for him.

We need players ready to take the responsibility for our game through the entire season. Enough of these pathetic displays.
I dont think selling Soule would be such an issue if his potential replacement wasn't so mediocre

Who would not be mediocre, Rodrygo? We have a salary cap of 4.5mln net it seems and we aren't spending 80mln+ on a player in fees.

Coming back to Soule vs Nico comparison. The latter had 16 goals and 5 assists in a similar number of minutes last season.

Galeno for one is meh, Sancho I find is hugely inconsistent. I'm not asking for world class but I'd like someone who seemingly fits with Motta and is somewhat consistent.

At this point in time, despite the off the pitch/mentality issues, Sancho would be a godsend compared to most of the names we are rumoured to. Especially if he is on a loan. I know 100% he is better then Soule, and at his worst would be same level as current Chiesa. Otherwise he is just someone who has x factor high level ability in creating for himself and others. Top level baller, even if theres question mark of how long he can maintain that.

Soulé is better than Gonzalez and Soulé will develop into a better player over time. Not the replacement I'd want.
I'm not sure Soulé is better right now but potentially yeah. It's simply not a guarantee, however, that a young player does well for a season and then gradually improves year on year until they become a great player.

Roma will be a good place for him - unless Dybala gets in his way - as these sort of players often do well there in their attacking teams who often play three forwards. He might be another Iturbe (same age, country, position, impact at a provincial club, move to Roma). Time will tell, but I think Soulé will have at least a solid career. I find that wingers and wide attackers are often the most inconsistent and annoying players of a squad.

I look forward to weekly updates from yourself and @Suns though as to what we are missing.

I'm not crying about him, but he was the standout player in a relegated team, which is a big achievement if he played well against better opponents every game. Goals, assists, and leading the team despite being surrounded by weaker players.

Gonzalez played well for a much better team that were gung-ho attacking. They had a good run in Europe too, but under the circumstances, perhaps a minimal upgrade.

If we get a playmaker then great, it makes sense to sacrifice him. If we get Adeyemi then fine, he's a different type of winger so I get that maybe we want to play a certain style. For Gonzalez though? Only makes sense if we didn't get any main targets so we settled for him: a mistake in other words.

I think I know what’s really going on here by putting the pieces together.

Nico Gonzalez is a target for Atalanta as was Oreilly. I think Juventus is showing interest on those for that reason although it could also mean that there could be genuine interest in Nico.

Mckennie is liked by Fiorentina and the Viola have already done a deal with Juventus earlier for Kean. We also know that Atalanta need a defender so Rugani or Facundo Gonzalez might be bargaining chips too.

But my gut tells me Nico is all about Koopmeiners.

Because we cant afford his salary

In other news... Romano has reported that Adeyemi's move to Juventus can be considered currently OFF

Borussia Dortmund want to keep Karim and only huge proposal could change the story, while Juve never presented any formal bid.

No formal, verbal or written offer was made and we just talked with his agent. Which happens literally hundreds of times with hundreds of agents during a transfer window for a big club.

So it was always a nothingburger.
